NIMC Adjusts Identity Service Fees Amid Rising Operational Costs

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced an immediate revision of its service charges, marking the first adjustment in over a decade. The decision, effective May 2, 2025, aims to align fees with current economies and sustain efficient service delivery.

In a statement released on Thursday, NIMC‘s Head of Corporate Communications, Kayode Adegoke, emphasized that the revised pricing structure is designed to maintain the quality and integrity of identity management services while ensuring affordability and accessibility for Nigerians. The new fees apply to various services, including modifications to the National Identification Number (NIN) data.

Previously, corrections such as name, address, or email modifications cost N1,522.50 while date of birth corrections were priced at N16,430. The updated pricing details are available on NIMC’s Official website.

NIMC has also issued a stern warning to its licensed FrontEnd Partners (FEPs), mandating strict adherence to the new pricing structure. Any FEP found charging beyond the approved rate will face sanctions, including license revocation. The Commission encourages the public to report any Instances of overcharging to its Inspectorate and Enforcement Unit via email or by calling 0815-501-5388.

This fee adjustment reflects NIMC‘s commitment to providing secure, reliable, and fairly priced identity services for all Nigerians. The Commission expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and all supporting Agencies for their continued support in strengthening Nigeria’s identity infrastructure.
