Nigerians are raising their voices against two major institutions, JAMB and INEC, over claims of corruption and poor service. These concerns have sparked public discussions across the country.
JAMB Faces Allegations
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is under fire after a former deputy director, Yisa Usman, accused the agency of corruption. He claimed he was dismissed unfairly and wants to expose wrongdoings inside the board. His accusations include harassment and shady procurement practices.
However, some unions, including NASU and ASCSN, say the claims are not true. They believe it is part of a smear campaign. Still, many Nigerians remain doubtful and want full investigations.
INEC’s Reputation Also in Question
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has also been accused of misconduct. Complaints include vote manipulation, favoritism, and bribery during elections. These issues have made people question the fairness of Nigeria’s elections.
To address this, INEC has promised to work with the EFCC to punish any staff involved in wrongdoing. They say this step will help clean up the system and restore trust.
Growing Frustration Among Nigerians
Frustrated citizens have taken to social media to express their anger. Many believe these institutions are failing the people. As a result, there are strong calls for change, accountability, and transparency.
In the absence of major reforms, public trust in JAMB and INEC may continue to drop. Nigerians are demanding better leadership and cleaner systems.
