Nigerian music star Kizz Daniel has officially regained full rights to his debut album, New Era, from his former record label, G-Worldwide Entertainment. This news marks a major victory for the singer and a key moment in the Nigerian music industry.
Kizz Daniel announced on social media. He shared the emotional journey that led to the return of his master recordings. In his words,
“From long nights in the studio to several mediations… FINALLY… I now own every song on the New Era album: ‘Yeba’ and ‘Sofa’ – I GOT MY MASTERS BACK.”
This victory gives Daniel full control over the music that helped launch his career.
Released in 2016, New Era includes hit songs like “Mama,” “Yeba,” and “Sofa.” The album was a breakthrough for Kizz Daniel, turning him into a household name in Nigeria and beyond.
However, after leaving G-Worldwide in 2017, the singer faced legal disputes with the label. The main issue was the ownership of the songs he recorded during his time with the company.
Following Kizz Daniel’s announcement, G-Worldwide also released a statement. The label confirmed that they had reached an agreement with the artist. They stated,
“We are pleased to have resolved this matter amicably. We wish Kizz Daniel continued success in his career.”
Owning his masters means that Daniel can now decide how his music is used. It also ensures that he will receive full credit and earnings from the album. Fans can now stream New Era knowing that the artist truly owns the music.
